II Our practice

Four disciplines, one goal.

Spirit Wrestler Solutions sits between worlds. Between clients and vendors, between technical experts and the people who have to make decisions, between the way emergency services talk and the way the rest of the business operates. Our practice falls into four areas, but most engagements draw from more than one.

01 Technology Implementation

Technology, translated.

Most businesses do not need more technology, they need the right technology, deployed for the right reasons, by people working in the client’s interest and not the vendor’s. That is the gap we fill.

We assess what a business actually needs, sit beside our clients through vendor conversations, and translate the sales pitch into plain language. We evaluate websites and rebuild them when they no longer serve the business behind them. We shape social media strategy that produces results clients can measure, not vanity metrics.

Think of us as the mechanically inclined friend you bring to the dealership. The one who knows what questions to ask, what answers to push back on, and when the quote in front of you is reasonable.

02 Custom Training & Curriculum

Curriculum, built for the room it is delivered in.

Whatever your organization needs taught, we build the course for it. Leadership and team-building, yes, and well beyond. Compliance, technical onboarding, customer experience, safety culture, supervisor development, niche operational topics that off-the-shelf vendors do not cover. If it can be taught, we can build the curriculum for it.

Our process is straightforward. We sit down with you to understand the result you want, audit any materials and SOPs you already have, identify the gaps, and design a program that closes them. No buzzwords, no proprietary acronyms, no “world’s most trusted system.” Just curriculum grounded in evidence-based methodology and a long career of putting it into practice.

Programs are delivered three ways, often in combination. E-learning modules built end-to-end by us. In-person sessions facilitated by Spirit Wrestler. Or train-the-trainer handovers, where we equip your own staff to deliver the program internally, on your schedule, in your voice.

03 Emergency Management & Communications

You have the plan. We make sure it survives first contact.

Most organizations already have an emergency plan. The question is whether it still works under pressure, whether the people who would execute it have actually rehearsed it, and whether the assumptions baked in three years ago still hold today.

We pressure-test the plans you already have. We design and facilitate exercises that put them through realistic stress, identify where they bend, where they break, and where they have quietly aged out of relevance. As an outside party with no stake in whether problems are found or not, we give you an honest read that internal reviews rarely produce.

We also serve as the interface between businesses and external emergency services. We translate EMS jargon, police procedure, and incident command structure into language that means something to your operations team. When the response agencies and the business need to be on the same page, that translation work is what keeps the page from getting torn in half.

Communications work fits in this practice as well. Radio systems, communications strategy, emergency procedures, failsafes, and backups. The systems you do not think about until the moment you need them, and then they are everything.

Mike Tyson said it best. Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth. Our job is to throw the practice punch first.

04 Relationship Management

The work that has our name on it, without your name on it.

This is where Spirit Wrestler started, more than twenty years and two business names ago, and it remains the most active and most lucrative part of our practice.

We run RFPs and quote processes on behalf of clients who have a reason to keep their name out of the room. Companies expanding into a new market who do not want competitors to read the signal. Larger organizations that draw inflated quotes the moment a vendor sees the letterhead. Buyers who simply want a clean, comparable set of bids without the relationship dynamics of being known in the industry.

We also bring vendor and service-provider relationships built across many sectors, which means we can aggregate volume pricing for clients who could not access it alone, and introduce buyers to capable providers they have never heard of. Sometimes the best vendor for a job is the one who does not advertise.

And then there is the work that does not get a heading.

Some of what we do does not fit cleanly into a list on a website, and some of it is not advertised at all. Atypical consulting engagements, sensitive projects, work that lives quietly in the background of a client’s operation. If what you are looking for is not described above, that does not mean we cannot help. It means we should talk.

III The firm

Built to be useful in any room.

Most consulting firms specialize narrowly because that is how the industry is built. Spirit Wrestler Solutions exists because most real problems do not respect those boundaries. We can sit in a server room, a boardroom, an ambulance bay, or a community hall and be useful in all four.

A

Independent by design.

We answer to clients, never to vendors. No referral kickbacks, no preferred-partner commissions, no quiet alignments. The advice you get is the advice we would give if the contract were ours.

B

Confidential by default.

Discretion is not a service tier. Every engagement is treated as sensitive until a client tells us otherwise. References are offered case by case, with the client’s permission, never on a marketing page.

C

Built across disciplines.

Public safety, technology, organizational psychology, training, procurement. Our practice is deliberately cross-disciplinary because that is where the hardest problems live.

D

Plain language, always.

We translate, we do not jargon. Whether the room is full of paramedics, vendors, or directors, our work is to make sure everyone is talking about the same thing.

Spirit Wrestler Solutions was founded by Brendan Hood, who continues to lead the firm as Consulting Partner on every engagement. His background is the reason the firm exists, and the reason it works the way it does.

Twenty-five years in public safety. Twenty-three of those in EMS, across clinical practice, logistics, and leadership. A degree in psychology with specialized training in assessment, organizational psychology, and educational psychology. A technology native who learned hardware and software the same way most people learn to drive, by needing to get somewhere.

Beyond the resume, two decades of community volunteer work, including parliamentary recognition for community initiatives. The certificate is on a wall somewhere, the work is what mattered.

Guided by the core principles of Toil and Peaceful Life, Brendan has a passion for working to build a better world.  Through strong relationship building, he has built a team of talented subject matter experts that are available to provide the expertise that clients can rely on when they need an extra helping hand.  Harnessing Brendan's passion, Spirit Wrestler brings his motivation and drive to every client experience, quietly leaving the world a little bit beter each time.

V In the community

The places that thrive here are the ones that show up.

The firm is rooted in a small community in rural southern Alberta. The businesses that thrive here are the ones that show up for the places they live in. A portion of our work supports organizations that matter locally and beyond.

  • 01 Riverside Golf Course Supporting a non-profit community recreational facility with web design and digital integration.
  • 02 Mighty Ponies and Minis Club Supporting Equine-assisted learning for young people and seniors through time, labour and expertise.
  • 03 Milk River Volunteer Fire Department Giving time to serve the community at large.
  • 04 Other community causes Supported as they come up, as the work allows.
VI Engage

The first conversation is on us.

Always free, always confidential, and rarely short. Bring the problem in whatever shape it is in, even if you are not sure it is a problem yet.
